How to Stop Fear of the Future: Bible Guidance

What the Bible says

1. Scripture

   Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

   Jesus points you back to the present. Tomorrow has its own weight, and you are not meant to carry it early.

   Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

   Fear of the future often grows when you depend only on your own understanding.

   For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil.

   God’s purposes are not always immediately visible, but scripture points to His intentions as peaceful and purposeful.

The future can feel heavy because it is unknown. The Bible does not give you every detail ahead of time, but it teaches you to trust the One who goes before you.
