How to Deal With Feeling Alone With God

What the Bible says

1. Scripture

   How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

   The psalmist brings the feeling of distance honestly to God rather than hiding it.

2. Scripture

   Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.

   God’s presence is promised even in valley seasons, not only in peaceful ones.

   Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

   Scripture gives a simple movement: turn toward God, even if the feeling has not returned yet.

A grounded way to understand this

Feeling alone with God does not mean your faith is gone. Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is keep turning toward Him while your emotions feel quiet.
