Suffering & GriefScripture-grounded answer
How Do I Know if God Is Disappointed in Me?
Many people fear that repeated mistakes, weakness, or spiritual struggles have pushed God away from them. The Bible teaches that God convicts people toward repentance, but He does not abandon those who sincerely seek Him.
What the Bible says
- Scripture
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
Psalm 103:13-14 God is described as compassionate and understanding toward human weakness.
- Scripture
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed... They are new every morning.
Lamentations 3:22-23 The Bible emphasizes God's mercy and continual willingness to restore people.
A grounded way to understand this
God may convict people lovingly toward change, but Scripture repeatedly shows His mercy toward those who return to Him honestly.
