Money & WorkScripture-grounded answer

Does God Want Me to Be Rich?

The Bible does not teach that wealth automatically means blessing or that poverty automatically means holiness. Scripture focuses more on the condition of the heart than the size of a person's finances.

What the Bible says

  1. Scripture
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
    Matthew 6:24

The Bible warns against allowing money to become a master.

  2. Scripture
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded.
    1 Timothy 6:17

Wealth brings spiritual responsibility and temptation.

  3. Scripture
Give me neither poverty nor riches.
    Proverbs 30:8-9

The writer asks for balance and dependence on God.

A grounded way to understand this

God's focus is not simply whether someone is rich or poor, but whether their heart remains humble, faithful, and dependent on Him.
