Bible Verses for Mourning

What the Bible says

   Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

   The Bible acknowledges sorrow while still pointing toward future hope.

   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying.

   Scripture points toward a future where grief and death are removed completely.

   The Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation.

   God is repeatedly described as a source of comfort in suffering.

The Bible does not rush mourning. It gives grieving people permission to weep while also holding onto the promise that sorrow is not eternal.
